My ogre slaying...Cauldron?
got this today, not really spectacular as far as stats, but it features an armor bonus for ogres....I was not aware they had defensive racial bonuses as well as offensive ones. Is this new or just random and rare enough that I'm just now hearing about it? |

It's been around for a while, but these kinds of bonuses aren't really advertised much because there's no way to replicate it with an inscription. They're also pretty rare to find as drops, but they can be crafted. Weapon crafters in Ascalon and the Northern Shiverpeaks craft armor with mods against Charr and Dwarves and there are even some greens with mods against demons. Greens such as [wiki]Aegis of Augh[/wiki]

I was told there were no more ogres in the game, because I have the curse of getting an ogre slaying knife everytime I do tombs. However, pair that combo with the ogre slaying knife, find some ogres, and have a rager!

There are others too. Ctrl+space against the knife-dropping enemies results in "I'm attacking the Darkness!" and Galstaff the Light is a collector somewhere in Kryta.

Ettins, Yeti and (maybe) some Jotun are ogres.
Those modifiers are listed in the GuildWiki, but since there anre no shield/Offhand upgrades and they do not exist as upgrades in inscribable drops, you cannot find them unless it is in those almost useless Prophecies and Factions drops. Current upgrades for shields just give health, and for foci health and casting time. Some more upgrades to choose won't harm anyone. Nor traders so people can get rid of a +damage versus dragons and someone else get it to use it to farm drakes. They should add upgrades for those, so people can get a shield versus demons much easier or something like that (without being a green item) or something like that. |
